My Downton Abbey

Floors Castle, Scottish Borders, Scotland 1997

As British Castles and coutnry houses are under the spotlight thanks to “Downton Abbey“, the ITV1’s hit saga about the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants, which scooped the award for Best Television Mini Series at the Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles this past weekend, I decided to post this picture, which dates back to 1997, of the beautiful Floors Castle near Kelso in the Scottish Borders.

The Castle, which is the seat of the Duke of Roxburghe, has beautiful grounds and gardens, and a lovely view from the River Tweed banks.
