Wishing stones in Kinkakuji garden , Kyoto – 2009

As you walk along the landscape gardens of Kinkakuji you may find some standing stones surrounded by hundreds of coins… these are the wishing stones. If you manage to throw your coin into the bowl in front of the stones your wish will come true. Needless to say that I didn’t manage…. Anyway, I once read in a book (Hokkaido Highway Blues by Will Ferguson) that you have to toss the coin with your left hand if your right-handed…
